Wells Cathedral COGIC Celebrates 100 Years
On Saturday, August 2nd, history was made. Wells Cathedral Church of God in Christ marked a monumental milestone—100 years of unwavering faith, community, and legacy. Held at the stunning Pines Manor in Edison, NJ, the centennial celebration was a beautifully curated evening that honored the church’s rich history and the leaders who helped shape it.
The night highlighted every era of Wells Cathedral’s spiritual journey—from its founding by Bishop James A. Wells, to the impactful leadership of Bishop Chandler D. Owens and Bishop Hersey L. Taylor, and now under the visionary guidance of Pastor James N. Williams, Sr. Legacy truly filled the room as heartfelt tributes were given by Pastor Brian Taylor of Destiny Living Ministries (son of Bishop Taylor) and Bishop Owens’ son, offering personal reflections on the foundation their fathers laid.
The keynote message, "Where Do We Go From Here?", delivered by Bishop William T. Cahoon, was both powerful and prophetic. Echoing the charge to press forward, he declared one word that echoed through the room: “Higher.” It was a resounding call to the church to continue building on its legacy with greater faith, deeper impact, and unwavering vision for the future.
A Venue Fit for a Century of Grace
Pines Manor did not disappoint. From its impeccable curb appeal to the elegant interiors, it’s clear why it remains a favorite for upscale weddings and events. We were also graciously given access to their bridal suite—a spacious, private retreat where we could transition seamlessly from setup to celebration. Let’s not forget the food—absolutely delicious. If the kitchen offered takeout, we would’ve ordered extra!

We had the pleasure of capturing this extraordinary evening with our luxury Photo Booth experience. The guests came dressed in excellence, and we matched the energy with timeless portraits and keepsake prints that commemorated the night in true Stellar Z fashion.
